Overview
Brian A. Mata, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is the Medical Director of Orthopaedic Surgery and Surgical Services for Great Lakes Physician Practice. He serves as the team physician for SUNY Fredonia, JCC, and supervises the athletic trainers that service many of the schools in Chautauqua County. He is also the team physician for Saint Francis High School. Dr. Mata received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Duke University, followed by his sports medicine fellowship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. There he was able to participate in team coverage for Towson University, Loyola University Maryland, John’s Hopkins University Lacrosse, and Morgan State University. Additionally, he participated in medical coverage for the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Nationals. In 2018, Dr. Mata was also the team physician for U.S. Men’s Lacrosse during their championship run in Israel.
