Overview
I’m a pediatric cardiologist with a focus on interventional cardiology. We try to find less invasive ways to treat congenital heart disease. We’ve made tremendous advances in the last decade in treating diseases that used to require open heart surgery. We can now treat these with a much less invasive approach. In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, I do procedures in the cath lab like closing atrial septal defects and certain valve replacements. At Duke we collaborate and work well together using a team approach to help our patients. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two children and getting outdoors. I like to mountain bike, hike and play soccer.

Clinical Research
Clinical research consists of overseeing clinical studies of patients undergoing new treatments and therapies, and publishing articles in peer reviewed medical journals. Providers who actively participate in clinical research are generally at the forefront of the fields and aware of the most up-to-date advances in treatments for their patients.
Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center
My clinical interests include the non-invasive assessment of congenital heart disease in the fetus to the adult, with a particular focus in fetal cardiology and patients with single ventricles. I am the director of Duke Pediatric Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging and I am an attending physician in the Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center. I am an American citizen who was born in England and raised in Canada. I have lived in the United States since I received my undergraduate education at Cornell University.
