In addition to his roles at the Hospital, Dr. Edinger is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is board-certified in pediatric rehabilitation medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and electrodiagnostic medicine. Dr. Edinger received his medical degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and a pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Edinger is the only pediatric rehab medicine physiatrist in the Pittsburgh area certified in electrodiagnostic medicine. In his role as the medical director of the Technology Assisted Children’s Home Program, he helps children that require medical technology transition to life outside of the hospital. He is also a co-founding member of Camp Inspire, an overnight camp specially designed for children on ventilators and volunteers time to other national and international programs. Dr. Edinger’s clinical and research interests include pediatric rehabilitation, spasticity management, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, electrodiagnostic studies, and international medical relief.
