Dr. Mildred R. Chernofsky is a gynecologic oncologist at Sibley Memorial Hospital and an associate professor in obstetrics and gynecology at George Washington University School of Medicine and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). She has a special interest in the surgical management of gynecologic malignancies and preinvasive diseases of the vulva, vagina and cervix in addition to complex benign gynecologic diseases. She holds a masters degree in public health and her areas of research interest include screening and prevention of gynecologic malignancies as well as disparities in outcomes of women with gynecologic cancers. Dr. Staples is passionate about reducing disparities in gynecologic cancers through community engagement and education.
