      My biggest draw to Fort Collins was my 2 daughters & families and 2 of our 4 grandkids. My second biggest draw was being close to the mountains. Hiking the Horsetooth mountain and nearby trails has been a great enjoyment.Since sleep is fundamental to good health, I make sure that patients’ issues are not impacting their sleep or their sleep impacting their health. Weight Control, Thyroid optimization, Glucose control, BP optimization, and Lipid management fall into one large basket of Metabolism to me. I try to look at the whole basket for short-term improvement and life-long improved health. Even though I don’t provide Obstetric care anymore, my previous history of that helps me feel comfortable with medical issues that happen with pregnancy.       What is the definition of Childhood Hypophosphatasia (HPP)?

      Childhood hypophosphatasia is a form of hypophosphatasia, a rare condition that affects the bones. Symptoms vary but may include delayed motor milestones; low bone mineral density for age; early loss of baby teeth (before age 5); bone and joint pain; short stature; a waddling gait; skeletal malformations; and/or unexplained broken bones. The forms of hypophosphatasia that develop during childhood are generally more mild than those that appear in infancy. Childhood hypophosphatasia is caused by changes in the ALPL gene and can be inherited in an autosomal dominant or autosomal recessive manner.
