I was born in Vietnam and raised in the United States. Following my undergraduate study, I postponed my dream of becoming a physician to serve as a missionary. As it turned out, that was my initial bedside training. Later, my allergy training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital led to a realization that caring for children with allergies would be my life’s work. I find working with children rewarding and refreshing. It’s impossible not to care and be inspired by their resiliency when they are sick and their capacity for healing. I love taking care of children with allergies, especially food allergies and eczema. So it’s natural that I have become quite interested in researching these conditions. My true satisfaction comes from learning and sharing knowledge with parents and our residents about how to improve the quality of life of children with allergies. It gives me a sense of satisfaction and purpose to be connected with the people around me — co-workers and parents — as we work together to build strong care teams. The more everybody cooperates to help make things better for a sick child, the better the healing process. In my mind, caring for children is all about a team effort. Dr. Van Le is rated as an Advanced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU). His top areas of expertise are Ozena, Nonallergic Rhinopathy, Allergic Rhinitis, and Grass Allergy.

Growing up in Ocean City, NJ, I was active in track and cross country and always loved science. Before medical school, I majored in psychology with a focus on child development at Duke University. I find it extremely rewarding to work with children and always knew I wanted to be a pediatrician. The doctors I had as a child were role models for me. Both of my parents are educators and they also inspire me to want to make a difference. I feel it is a privilege when families put their trust in me and allow me to care for their children. I am passionate about education and working with the physicians in our fellowship program. I hope to be an inspiration for medical students and residents the way that my mentors at Thomas Jefferson University were for me. I also believe in adding to our medical knowledge through continuing research. I take the time to get to know my patients and their families. I believe all children should enjoy a high quality of life, and I strive to treat my patients so they can excel in school, participate in sports and other activities, and spend time with their family and friends. Francis Ostrea, MD, is a primary care pediatrician based at Nemours duPont Pediatrics, Dover. He is a board-certified member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Being a primary care pediatrician and a parent, Dr. Ostrea understands exactly what parents go through. He loves every day of his work. I enjoy seeing children grow up in front of my eyes, being a part of their lives. When you’re a primary care physician, you’re the go-to guy for anything that happens in your patient’s life. I enjoy that, and the interaction with my patients and their parents. Being a primary care pediatrician is my dream job, I enjoy every day of my work. I’m really passionate about what I do. I am proud of being in “the business of saving people’s lives.” This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.Having seen a lot of childhood asthma, I want to give my patients and their parents a full understanding of the disease. I believe that compliance with medications is dependent on understanding the whole disease process. For my adolescent patients, I know how awkward it must be for parents to talk to their own children about safe sex. I am a doctor who is willing to answer questions and give information in order to prevent unplanned teenage pregnancies. I am very thorough. I talk to my patients and their families, sitting down face-to-face and listening to their concerns. I don’t talk to parents with my back turned while typing in my computer. I’m a parent myself, so I understand what parents go through in their homes. I always treat my patient families as if it was my own child on the examination table. Dr. Karen M. Kelly is a board-certified, primary care pediatrician with more than 20 years of experience in private practice. She is a fellow, American Academy of Pediatrics, and board member of Heal Autism Now Delaware (HAND). I was always interested in medicine, even as a young girl. Then, when I was in high school and college, I remember being interested in the way kids’ minds worked, and wanted to help them stay in good health. This helped decide my path through medical school and, 20-some years later, to where I am today. Children are also so fun — it really makes for a happy career. I’m really passionate about the interactions I have with the kids — and their families. I do all I can to help each family raise a healthy, happy child. I urge them as strongly as I can on things they should be doing to ensure good health, including things like proper exercise and nutrition. At the same time, I like to have as pleasant an interaction with each child and family as I can — it makes things better for us all. I try to help each child and family see the importance of good health and good decisions when it comes to daily lifestyle choices like food and exercise. I also try to treat each child in the way that works best for them — what’s most appropriate for their age and what works best for their individual personality. I try and get each kid involved in their own care, so I don’t just talk to the family. That usually works well — unless, of course, a child is so young that he or she can’t talk yet. Dr. Kelly is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU). Her top areas of expertise are Obesity in Children, Croup, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU).

When should I see a Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor in Delaware, US?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor in Delaware, US?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctors in Delaware, US?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctors in Delaware, US?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor in Delaware, US?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor in Delaware, US?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctors in Delaware, US?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.

Can I filter my search to find a Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor that offers video calls?

Look for the filter feature on the left-side of the Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) doctor search results page. Select “Offers telehealth visits” under the Availability category to search for providers who offer virtual appointments (video calls).
