Overview
Carson Fairbanks, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon. Dr. Fairbanks is proud to bring his extensive experience to patients throughout Weatherford, Fort Worth, and Keller, Texas, at Texas Orthopaedic Associates.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in College Station, Dr. Fairbanks went to medical school at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in Bryan. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery through the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Dr. Fairbanks honed his skills in open and minimally invasive techniques to relieve both common and complex spinal problems through his orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at the Spine Institute of Arizona in Scottsdale. During his time there, he was fortunate to work alongside some of the pioneers in minimally invasive spine treatments. These techniques include minimally invasive microdiscectomies, laminectomy, anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF), lateral lumbar interbody fusion (DLIF/XLIF), posterior lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF, PLIF), anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), posterior cervical foraminotomy, posterior cervical fusion, and cervical total disc replacements.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Fairbanks has served as a sports medicine team physician for Alvarado High School, Brenham High School, and the football program at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.
Dr. Fairbanks is board-certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and North American Spine Society.
