Dr. Jennifer A. Rose
Overview
I would consider myself a “Tri-Cities girl,” growing up in Bristol, moving to Johnson City for medical school and now practicing in Kingsport. A lot of my training took place at our own Niswonger Children’s Hospital. Having family nearby and enjoying small groups of friends are some of my favorite things about living in a small town. I have always gravitated toward pediatrics, then with clinical rotations in medical school, I knew for sure. The interaction with infants, kids and teenagers, the mixture of patients who are sick and well, and the spectrum of care in pediatrics are all things I enjoy within this specialty. It is also incredibly rewarding to see my patients grow and get well quickly, and I am able to form meaningful bonds with their families. The benefit of bringing your child to Mountain States Medical Group Pediatrics – Kingsport is that we are all mothers, so we get it. That’s why we offer extended evening and weekend hours. I have a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son, and when I’m not chasing them around, I enjoy running.

I have wanted to be a pediatrician since I was a little girl. Interacting with children and their families, watching kids grow and making them well again are what I most value as a doctor. My husband is an elementary school teacher, and we have three boys. Outside of work, I enjoy photography, hiking, biking and playing with my kids. In medical school, I was fortunate to do international mission work and hope to volunteer again as my kids grow. I am also interested in wellness promotion, including obesity prevention, promoting and supporting breastfeeding, and child abuse prevention.
