Dr. Maria A. Gieron-Korthals

He then completed a pediatric neurology residency and served as chief neurology resident at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He also completed a six-week externship at Queen Square Neurologic Institute in London, England. Since joining the hospital, he has started and/or been involved in numerous multidisciplinary clinics, including Torticollis Clinic, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic, Spina Bifida Clinic,Stroke Clinic, Skeletal Dysplasia Clinic, Spasticity Clinic, and most recently Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic. In addition, he sees patients from infancy to young adulthood with various developmental disabilities, especially a large population of patients with cerebral palsy. After graduating from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1989, Dr. Chinarian completed a combined residency in pediatrics and physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at Wayne State University in 1994.
