Dr. Paul K. Treadwell

EDUCATION Samual R. Francis, MD, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He also received his Master of Science in bioengineering and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Utah. After taking a transitional intern year at the Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, he returned to Salt Lake City to complete his Radiation Oncology Residency at the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Hospital.EXPERIENCE Dr. Francis is a radiation oncologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers with extensive experience using external beam treatment modalities as well as brachytherapy. He also has expertise in advanced CT simulation, treatment planning and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).Prior to joining Comprehensive Cancer Centers, Dr. Francis was enrolled in the Radiation Oncology Residency Program at the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Hospital. He served as chief resident there in 2017. His research and findings have appeared in several industry publications including Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and Journal of Clinical Oncology. He also won the Radiological Society of North America Roentgen Research Award for his work in 2018.PERSONAL When he's not treating patients, Dr. Francis enjoys spending time with his wife, three young sons and newborn daughter. He also serves in his church and enjoys board games, gardening, hiking and trail running.I truly enjoy getting to know each of my patients as I seek to understand their individual situations, goals and desires. I believe in personalizing care for each patient. My own father's battle with cancer inspired me to become a radiation oncologist and helps me relate better to what my patients and their families are going through. I believe in treating each of my patients with the same compassion, care and expertise that I would want for myself or any member of my own family.
