Dr. Hisashi Tsukada is a thoracic surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is also an assistant professor in surgery at Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree and a PhD in medicine from St. Marianna University School of Medicine (Kawasaki, Japan). He then completed a residency in surgery at Mitsui Memorial Hospital (Tokyo). His fellowships include thoracic surgery at St. Marianna University Hospital, thoracic surgery research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and interventional pulmonology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Dr. Tsukada is research focuses on developing an artificial trachea for in vivo implantation and airway tissue regeneration. He has authored 30 peer-reviewed publications.
