I am a native Floridian, having been born and raised in Orlando. I spent my undergraduate years at University of Florida, followed by medical school and residency at University of South Florida. I’ve spent nearly all of my career practicing pediatrics in Vero Beach. I love everything about the Florida outdoors — fishing, gardening and kayaking are just a few of the activities I enjoy. Chidren are not just little adults. I am continually surprised and fascinated by the different stages of development each child goes through to become an adult. It is an honor to partner with each family during this journey to adulthood.  After more than 20 years in practice, I now have the privilege of seeing former patients become parents, which means I have the opportunity to influence a second generation. There are very few professions that can provide that satisfaction! I am passionate about patient education. In this age of the internet and Google, it’s difficult for parents and patients to navigate through the vast amount of information at their fingertips. It is my job to make sure that they have accurate information so they can make their own health care decisions.  I’m also passionate about my own education. Much of the advice I pass on to current patients, I learned from former patients. Finally, I support education of new doctors in my role as a professor for the Florida State University College of Medicine. I take an active role in training the next generation of physicians during their third year of medical school. Makng a difference is what we all strive to do. Each of us contributes in different ways to our communities. I try to participate in community events and local fundraisers for charities, especially when it benefits a patient. Our staff consistently supports benefits for organizations such as the Epilepsy Foundation and the March of Dimes to name just a few. I knew at a young age I wanted to practice medicine. I was fascinated with people as well as science; how everything worked together to make us who we are. I chose pediatric primary care because I truly enjoy building relationships with families. I love kids and watching them grow. Children bring so much joy and I feel privileged to be a part of their lives. Being a parent myself, I understand and relate to parents and I work hard to help them feel confident and enjoy the challenges and rewards of every age and milestone their child reaches. I believe preventive medicine is important for keeping our kids safe and strong. I am also passionate about setting a foundation for good nutrition and active lifestyles at young age. This can mean a lifetime of health and happiness. We want our office to be a place where families can feel comfortable to express their opinions and concerns, and to partner with us in their child’s care. With a background working with infants who require intensive care, I have special experience in treating newborns and helping new moms succeed in breastfeeding. I grew up in a small town in Puerto Rico and moved to Florida in 2008 after completing my residency in Long Island, NY. I enjoy being a primary care pediatrician because it allows me to educate families to support their children’s development. I address a child’s well-being from all perspectives — physical, emotional and intellectual. My interest in pediatrics began during my rotation in medical school. I found that caring for children was immensely rewarding. Pediatrics involves a group of family-centered approaches to ensure a healthy development, and I enjoyed been part of that. Children always remind me what it's like to be happy, happy with the simple things in life. I am passionate about education and patient advocacy. One of the most important experiences I can provide for parents and their children is to talk and listen to them. I do my best to provide my patients the same level of care and compassion that I want for my own children. Dr. Rojas is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Fifth Disease. I grew up here in Central Florida. After high school I went to University of Florida, then decided to brave the cold weather in Milwaukee for medical school. I joined the U.S. Navy and did my pediatric internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.I loved pediatrics and caring for children. After my internship, my country needed me to serve the troops as a Naval flight surgeon. While it took me away from my first love of pediatrics, it offered me so many unique experiences flying in airplanes and helicopters and caring for our Marine and Naval air crew. I got to travel the world from Japan to Korea and even to Iraq. After exiting the Navy, I completed my residency at Duke University in pediatrics. As a U.S. Marine Corps spouse, I practiced in multiple U.S. cities as well as Japan (again). I love that I am back into pediatrics and Central Florida doing my life calling. I love general pediatrics because there is such a variety of visits from treating sick children to helping kids meet their milestones to just watching kids grow into healthy, well-adjusted adults. Pediatrics allows us to really make a difference through prevention and guidance. Overall, I am passionate about giving your child the brightest future while keeping them feeling healthy and well. I am very experienced in mental health and manage a lot of ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Seeing the progression of development in a young baby to a toddler and teen is heartwarming for me. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and Peloton. I have even visited the Peloton studio. I love vacationing and hanging out with my two children who are entering the teen years (scary but rewarding). I try to give parents tools and education to make their children as healthy and happy as possible. As a mom of two, I relate to the trials and tribulations of parenting. I’ve been practicing medicine for almost 30 years, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. My favorite thing about being a pediatrician is becoming part of the family. Seeing a child from the first days of life all the way through to adolescence is truly amazing. I’m very humbled and proud to be voted Osceola County’s best pediatrician, but what’s truly rewarding is having parents who were my patients as children, bringing their own children in to see me. In the Philippines, where I was born and raised, I was inspired by my neighbor who was a physician. For years I watched as he helped people — especially sick children — get well and grow up. I thought it was incredible that someone could help heal and make such a difference in a person's life. I knew early on this was what I wanted to do. My passion is helping children grow into strong, confident adults. As a doctor I can influence a child’s life and I take that to heart. When I was young, my doctor was my friend and that’s my goal with my patients and families. I enjoy celebrating successes and helping my patients through struggles by providing healing and advice in times of sickness and in health. I regularly participate in medical missions in the Philippines, and I’m grateful to be able to help children who are sick get back to just being kids. I also treat every child as my own and will do whatever it takes to ensure that all of my “children” are healthy and strong. What is the definition of Fifth Disease?

Fifth disease is caused by a specific virus that leads to a rash on the cheeks, arms, and legs.

When should I see a Fifth Disease doctor in Florida, US?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Fifth Disease doctor in Florida, US?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Fifth Disease doctors in Florida, US?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Fifth Disease doctors in Florida, US?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Fifth Disease doctor in Florida, US?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Fifth Disease doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Fifth Disease doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Fifth Disease doctor in Florida, US?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Fifth Disease doctor?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Fifth Disease doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Fifth Disease doctors in Florida, US?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Fifth Disease doctor search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.

Can I filter my search to find a Fifth Disease doctor that offers video calls?

Look for the filter feature on the left-side of the Fifth Disease doctor search results page. Select “Offers telehealth visits” under the Availability category to search for providers who offer virtual appointments (video calls).
