My path to becoming a doctor was nontraditional. After two years of college, I bought a family photography business and worked with my wife in the studio. Ten years later, the studio was asked to do the photography for a marketing campaign for the local hospital. Listening to the stories of patients and doctors in the campaign inspired me to pursue a career in medicine. My journey through medical school led me to pursue internal medicine as a specialty. I love that it gives me the ability to treat a wide range of medical problems and feel that it plays an important part in helping me to care for my patient’s overall health needs. My wife and I were high school sweethearts growing up in Georgia and have enjoyed living in North Carolina for many years.
