Raja Dhanekula, MD, discovered his passion for hepatology while in medical school, taking care of patients with little access to liver transplant. He completed his medical training at Siddhartha Medical College in India and his residency in internal medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA. He completed fellowship training in gastroenterology, advanced hepatology and transplant hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Melvin Lau completed his Gastroenterology fellowship in 2010 and joined Scott & White in Round Rock as a senior staff member. He was named Director of Endoscopy in 2012, then the Section Chief of Gastroenterology in 2016. He served in the Scott & White Clinic Staff Organization (CSO) from 2013-2019. He completed the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Advanced Physician Leadership Course in 2017.  He is a strong advocate for physician compensation and retirement planning. He regularly teaches personal finance for physicians and was guest lecturer at Texas ACP (American College of Physicians) annual meeting in 2022. Dr. Lau is a fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife and three daughters, cooking, and college football.
