I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I was an Eagle scout at age 17.  I served a mission in Chile Concepcion from 1983-1984.  I married Kathy Ann Gray and have been married for 30 years.  We have 5 biological children and 2 adopted from an orphanage in Vladivostok Russia.  I graduated from BYU in 1987 and attended medical school at University of Texas medical school at Houston from 1988-1992.  Then I did a residency at Maricopa Medical Center from 1992-1997.  I taught other residents from 1997-2001 at the same institution.  Next I went into private practice from 2001 until the present.  I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, camping, and occasional travel.  Surgery was what I always wanted to do since having my own appendix removed when I was 16.  I love diseases that have cures and immediate results and enjoy patients getting their lives back to normal.We do the least invasive most effective surgery we can do.
