Overview
Dr. Diane Snyder is a Board Certified Ob/Gyn with a Focused Practice in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
During medical school, she was debating between pediatrics and Ob/Gyn and for a variety of reasons chose Ob/Gyn. During her residency training, she was introduced to the sub-specialty of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) by one of her attending physicians and knew it was an area she wanted to pursue. During her last year of residency, she did an elective rotation at Boston Children’s Hospital which really introduced her to the field. She ended up not doing a fellowship and started to slowly incorporate younger patients into her practice.
Once Dr. Snyder stopped practicing Obstetrics in 2002, she was able to focus more on this age group. She started giving lectures to pediatric groups as well as in middle and high schools.
Joining the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG) has been most helpful with monthly journals, international listserve, and annual National conferences. This is a group of many specialties that focuses on delivering medical care to pediatric and adolescent females.
PAG covers many medical and gynecologic conditions and some diagnoses that can be devastating to a young patient (Premature ovarian insufficiency or Mullerian anomalies), and Dr. Snyder finds it extremely gratifying to be a part of the care journey for these patients.
Helping young women manage their contraceptive choices, feel positive about their sexuality, and improve their menstrual disorders are but a few of the things she loves about pediatric and adolescent gynecology.

Dr. Cornelia Trimble is a professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. She has joint appointments in the Departments of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Oncology, and Pathology. Dr. Trimble completed her residency in anatomic pathology at Cornell University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gynecologic pathology and a residency in gynecology and obstetrics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her clinical interest and expertise is in developing new ways to intercept cancers — treating pre-invasive, cancer precursor lesions — caused by HPV. Her work has focused on two nonsurgical strategies: (1) immunotherapy via therapeutic HPV vaccination, and (2) repurposing artesunate, a plant-derived compound used to treat malaria, as a topical treatment administered by the patient herself to treat high-grade, intraepithelial HPV lesions. Her work has shown proof-of-principle, that it is indeed possible to eliminate HPV pre-cancers without surgery, and has been recognized internationally. Dr. Trimble has dedicated herself to delivering cutting-edge care to girls and women who have a very common problem, caused by a very common virus, HPV.
