I am a maternal-fetal medicine specialist within the field of obstetrics and gynecology. My specific interests are in the area of high-risk maternal medical conditions like hypertension, diabetes and preeclampsia. One of the advantages of coming to Duke is the breadth of specialty support available. My favorite part of my job is my patients. I’m originally from Durham and grew up here, so, I feel like I’m giving back to the community that supported me in this role. Being a physician allows me to combine my love of medicine and my compassion for people. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and going to the beach.

Every day I feel privileged to be a part of this very personal experience for so many women. As a researcher in the areas of infectious diseases in pregnancy, I see it as my duty to help advance the care of women and their fetuses who may experience infectious complications. I hope to leave a mark on our field that leads to improved infectious disease outcomes for women and their children. I moved to the Chapel Hill area after many years of living and practicing in Rhode Island because of the outstanding group of physicians here.
