During his time in the military, he held a wide range of medical leadership positions, including being selected as the lead ENT doctor for the US Army, the Consultant to the Army Surgeon General, and as the Chief of Clinical Operations for NATO health care in Afghanistan.Dr. Cable is a graduate of West Point, where he was a recipient of the Superintendent’s Award for Excellence and the Distinguished Cadet Award. He obtained his M.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where he was an Alpha Omega Alpha honors graduate and where he received the Distinguished Graduate Army Surgeon General’s award. He completed his otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and his pediatric ENT sub-specialty fellowship at the University of Iowa, a consistently top-ranked program within the largest university-owned teaching hospital in the country.
