Her undergraduate training at the University of Texas at Austin was in Mechanical Engineering, and she has a Master's degree in Cancer Biology from the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston. She then attained her medical school degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by an internal medicine residency training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She returned to Houston to obtain cardiology fellowship training at the Texas Heart Institute ' St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, where she was honored as 'CCU Fellow of the Year' in 2003. She has done extensive research in medicine with many peer-reviewed publications on topics as varied as cancer biology, cytogenetics, cardiac MRI, and general disease states as they apply to the heart, as well as optimization of function of biventricular pacemakers. She currently serves as the Medical Director of Noninvasive Cardiology at the St. Luke's Community Medical Center-The Woodlands. Dr. Nemeth's clinical interests focus on all noninvasive aspects of cardiology with particular emphasis on disease prevention, valvular heart disease, and congestive heart failure.
