A long-time resident of St. Bernard Parish, Dr. Thien was born in Vietnam and moved to the U.S. in 1975. After graduating from Loyola University with a B.S. in Medical Technology in 1981, he worked as a Technologist at Touro Infirmary Laboratory for several years. He went on to earn his M.D. from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1989. After medical school, Dr. Thien completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at LSU in New Orleans in 1993. Dr. Thien joined De La Ronde Medical Center in 1993, and he has been in practice in St. Bernard Parish for the past 20 years. Dr. Thien is dual board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and he is also fluent in Vietnamese.
