Dr. Betsy Washburn is a board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgeon. She earned her medical degree and completed her residency at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by a fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital. For over 13 years, she has served the Chattanooga community at CHI Memorial, building a practice rooted in compassion and excellence.Dr. Washburn’s philosophy is simple: treat every patient as if they were her own sister or mother. She believes in empowering patients through education, ensuring they are active participants in their treatment journey. She appreciates the scientific and technical aspects of surgery, but what truly resonates with her is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and their families facing a cancer diagnosis. Dr. Washburn considers it a privilege to provide support and care during such a challenging time and is committed to staying at the forefront of advancements in breast cancer treatment, particularly in the development of targeted therapies that may lead to less invasive surgical options.Outside of the office, Dr. Washburn enjoys spending time outdoors biking, hiking, gardening, and caring for her chickens. She is also a devoted fan of Georgia Dawgs football and cherishes time spent with her spouse, family, friends, and pets. She loves seeing her patients around town and witnessing their continued health and well-being after treatment.
