Midline cleft of the lower lip, also known as Tessier No. 30 facial cleft, is a very rare congenital (present at birth) abnormality characterized by a mild notching of the lower lip to a complete midline cleavage of the jaw (mandible), tongue, and neck. Midline cleft of the lower lip may occur alone or with other abnormalities such as congenital heart defects, hand and foot abnormalities, and cleft palate, among others.
