I completed my postgraduate training at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, where I also earned a Ph.D. with Distinction in Biomedical Sciences, majoring in physiology. I then completed my fellowship in trauma, critical care, and emergency surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
