Overview
"When he was 10 years old, George Ford, MD, told his mother he was going to be a ""kids' doctor."" The family lived below the poverty line in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the young Dr. Ford never forgot the pediatricians who care for him and his two siblings. When he discovered that there wasn't a pediatric endocrinologist serving the Appalachian Highlands, Dr. Ford says he felt it was his calling to make a difference for an area that needed his specialty. He took a leap of faith and never looked back. ""I love the relationship I have with patients and families,"" he says. ""I feel like each person teachers me something new that enriches my life. I love to help, serve and listen."" As an ETSU Health clinician, Dr. Ford also serves as a faculty member at ETSU's Quillen College of Medicine. Dr. Ford loves to enjoy the scenery of the Appalachian Highlands by biking, hiking and participating in other outdoor activities with his wife and four children.".
