Overview
I treat infants, children, and adolescents, as well as adults, with congenital heart disease, who have cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, and aborted sudden death; those who have or need a cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator, and those who need treatment of their rhythm problem with catheter electrophysiology study and ablation. I also evaluate and treat congenital and acquired heart disease in infants, children, and adolescents. It is my privilege to care for each patient and family. Duke Children's Health Center Cardiology Clinic
I specialize in diagnosing and treating heritable arrhythmia syndromes that affect children and young adults such as long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia syndrome, and short QT syndrome. I specialize in identifying the cause of patients who have experienced a sudden cardiac arrest. I am a physician-scientist and cross-trained in pediatric cardiology, electrophysiology, human genetics, and molecular physiology. I lead an active research program that brings together clinical medicine, functional genomics, precision medicine, and molecular and cellular biology.
