Dr. Erik J. Novak

Zach Laidley, DPM, completed his training at one of the nation's top podiatric residency programs and is Foot and Ankle Surgery Board Qualified. He served as chief resident at the Swedish Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery in Seattle. This rigorous and comprehensive program is considered one of the elite foot and ankle surgery programs in the United States, with direct training from some of the top podiatric and orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons in the Seattle area. His training encompassed all aspects of foot and ankle pathology and surgery, including forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, total ankle replacements, ankle arthroscopy, sports medicine, trauma and limb salvage. Dr. Laidley is originally from the St. Louis area and obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 2019 from Scholl College at Rosalind Franklin University, where he graduated at the top of his class. Dr. Laidley is committed to the advancement of foot and ankle surgery and serves on the residency training committee at the Swedish Podiatric Residency Program.Dr. Laidley, his wife, and their dog live in Seattle. Dr. Chi is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons specializing in fracture care, foot and ankle surgery, and knee arthroscopy and replacement. He received his bachelor's degree from Stanford and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He did fellowships at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Alabama and at Harborview Medical Center. Dr. Chi was born in Connecticut and spent the majority of his childhood in California. He’s lived in L.A., the Bay area, Boston, England and Kenya, but says he likes Seattle the best. He and his wife have three kids who keep them busy with their sports and music, and academics. In Dr. Chi’s words, “Sometimes I need to go to work so I can rest!” In his off time, Dr. Chi is a “former runner, sometime cyclist, hopeful water skier, avid snow skier, and aging second-degree black belt.” Dr. Chi has also received numerous awards for his medical care including: several “Top Doctor in Seattle” nominations, the most recent being for 2011; “Best of the Northwest” award in 2010; and the 2010 Compassionate Doctor recognition, part of the Patient's Choice Award program. Dr. Brandes is a Board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with additional fellowship training in the subspecialty area of foot and ankle. In addition to practicing general orthopaedics, he specializes in treating patients with foot and ankle problems, as well as fractures of both the upper and lower extremities. Dr. Brandes grew up in Southern California, where he attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree, followed by the USC Keck School of Medicine. He stays up-to-date on current and emerging technologies and treatments for athletic and traumatic injures, acquired deformities and arthritis of the foot and ankle. Dr. Brandes believes that patients need to be active participants in their care. By thoroughly explaining an injury or condition, patients are better able to select their best treatment options and more actively participate in their rehabilitation and recovery. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, cooking and perfecting the art of barbecue with his wife and children. He was a competitive runner through high school and into college and is still an avid runner.
