Overview
Dr. Nicholas Carr is a Colorado native who has practiced Neonatal Critical Care since 2015. Before coming to Utah, he served as an active-duty physician for the United States Air Force, where he supported both the domestic and global support of critically ill newborns. During his time with Intermountain Health, he has worked as a NICU doctor and director of neonatal transport for Intermountain Life Flight. He holds multiple academic ranks and has published over 20 manuscripts in neonatal research.
Dr. Carr is passionate about improving patient care through family support and collaboration. One of his clinical interests includes family-centered care, which aligns with his care statement that comes from Joyce Brothers: �When you look at your life, the greatest happiness is family happiness.�
As a physician, he enjoys teaching at the bedside with patients, their families, and medical trainees. His other clinical interests include transport medicine, emergency neonatal transfusion, and extracorporeal life support (ECMO).
Dr. Carr loves traveling, reading, skiing, and doing pretty much anything involving the outdoors. His wife and two kids have lived in Utah since 2020, and love everything about Utah and are excited to call it home.
