Overview
I’m an internal medicine doctor who sees adult patients for a wide variety of issues. When I meet a patient, it’s really important for me to find out who they are and what matters to them in their care, beyond just a list of diagnoses or medical problems. I love medical education and my favorite part is when I have a chance to work with a doctor who’s learning how to listen and take a patient’s history. I encourage them to ask questions and take enough time with the patient so that they don’t just know the basic factors of this person’s “chief complaint.” At Duke, the staff is interested in caring for each patient and learning how circumstances impact their health and quality of life. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. I also like to sing, play guitar and piano and go see performances and concerts.
