I grew up in China’s Hunan province as an active, athletic child. My mom was a physician and my dad was a medical school professor, so I had great role models. Today I’m a radiologist focusing on pediatric musculoskeletal and body imaging, with concentration on X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy (how things move inside the body). I am certified in diagnostic radiology and subspecialized in pediatric radiology by the American Board of Radiology. I have been working over 17 years, and remain an active member of the Radiological Society of North America and Society of Pediatric Radiology. I really like kids, and I’m glad to help whenever I can. I work closely with clinical teams to help make sure each child’s diagnosis is correct. I enjoy sharing my expertise with other physicians and learning from them. It’s great to get an understanding of how they approach a diagnosis. I think everyone should have access to quality healthcare. Nemours does because we treat all children regardless of their ability to pay. That’s important to me. I have a passion to be part of excellent medical care for children and do my best to provide the best services possible for each child. I believe in working as a team with the medical associates, patients and families to provide compassionate and high-quality care. My medical interest include: Ultrasound  Musculoskeletal imaging I will keep learning to improve my services with updated knowledge and advanced technique, and ensure each child receives the best care possible. Dr. Guo is rated as an Advanced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Pyle Disease. Her top areas of expertise are Caudal Regression Syndrome, Spondylocarpotarsal Synostosis Syndrome, Diastrophic Dysplasia, and Atelosteogenesis Type 2.

Both of my parents were in the medical field and strongly influenced the direction of my career. I became a physical therapist, which I enjoyed immensely, but I thought I could make a different contribution to patient care by becoming a physician. In radiology, we are part of the medical team that helps diagnose or exclude an illness and we help to direct the course of our patient’s treatment. Working with children is an amazing experience. Kids are so resilient and bounce back from all types of difficult situations. They each have such a unique perspective and we try our best to tailor our interactive imaging procedures to the child. Sometimes this involves providing anatomy lessons to teen patients, other times it involves just “getting it over with.” We aim to make our imaging procedures as interesting and as comfortable as possible. My areas of interest include: Pediatric Body Imaging  Fetal Imaging Child Abuse I try to provide the most accurate information based on our imaging studies to the patient’s medical team so that the child can be treated as quickly as possible. I am fortunate to work with an incredible group of medical practitioners at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children who share my passion to provide the highest quality medical care to all children. Dr. Harty is rated as an Advanced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Pyle Disease. Her top areas of expertise are Caffey Disease, X-Linked Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Tarda, Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Congenita, and Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia.

David Saul was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. He attended Drexel University for undergraduate studies in biology and premedical education. David also attended Drexel University's College of Medicine to obtain his MD. Subsequently, he completed his internship and residency in diagnostic radiology at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He completed a fellowship in pediatric radiology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He has worked as an attending radiologist in both private and academic practices, before joining Nemours in September 2019. I believe that children are uniquely deserving of our best care because they are innocent, vulnerable and often unaware or not fully aware of their disease. Being a sick kid can be terrifying, and I want to be there to help in some way. I also greatly appreciate and enjoy how often children can recover from seemingly insurmountable disease. Far from making me sad to see illness in a child, it makes me hopeful to think about his/her potential for health and wellness and to enjoy a full life after receiving appropriate treatment. I am driven by a sense of justice, and that the children we serve deserve our best. I care deeply that we provide care in the most up to date, efficient, honest and accurate way possible.  My medial interests include: Education Thoracic Imaging Cardiac Imaging Body Imaging Ultrasound MRI I try to lead by example, to give my best effort for every child, and take as much time as needed with each family that I encounter. I know that many of the families I see, by the time they arrive in my department, are having the worst day of their lives. I want to provide comfort, reassurance and a smile in those times of difficulty because I would want the same for my family. Dr. Saul is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Pyle Disease. His top areas of expertise are Spondylocarpotarsal Synostosis Syndrome, Caudal Regression Syndrome, Scoliosis, and Hypochondroplasia.

Even at the start of my medical training, I knew I wanted to be in a field where I get to work with children. After my first child was born premature and required NICU-level care, that experience only intensified my desire to work with kids. Having a child requiring medical care is both scary and stressful. As a pediatric radiologist, my goal is to help alleviate those feelings for parents and children by providing the best radiology service and making it as kid friendly as possible. Pediatric radiology is a perfect fit for me. As a pediatric radiologist, I get to work as a consultant with many clinicians in different pediatric fields. Though radiologists are often behind the scenes, we play a vital role in diagnosing the problem, so that children can be treated and feel better. I am passionate about all areas of pediatric radiology including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging and body imaging. I also work with all modalities including X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI. One of my roles as a radiologist is as a consultant, working with clinicians to ensure that we do the best test with the lowest radiation possible. As radiologists, we are always working to come up with new imaging techniques that can avoid or lower radiation and be more kid friendly. I care for children both at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital and the Nemours Deptford Specialty Care and Surgery Center. At our Deptford location, you may see me involved in fluoroscopy, ultrasound and X-ray. I also perform joint injections for MRI arthrograms at our Deptford location, many which are performed to evaluate sports injuries, joint pain or congenital abnormalities. Dr. Schenker is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Pyle Disease. Her top areas of expertise are Osteoporosis-Pseudoglioma Syndrome, Caudal Regression Syndrome, Spondylocarpotarsal Synostosis Syndrome, Short Stature (Growth Disorders), and Gastrostomy.

Colleen Ditro is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), certified nurse practitioner, and the lead Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for the orthopedics, pain and wound care teams at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. She is on the medical advisory board of the Little People of America, is the camp nurse for Camp Seneb, a summer camp for children with skeletal dysplasia, and teaches nursing students as an adjunct faculty member at West Chester University. She’s been a pediatric nurse since 1987, and is a past board member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Practitioners Society (POPS). Colleen joined Nemours in 2004, and earned Nurse of the Year honors for all of Nemours in 2013. I have wanted to be a pediatric nurse since I was 16 years old, when my brother passed away from leukemia. His nurses took such great care of him, I knew what I wanted to do with my life.  I jumped at the chance to join the skeletal dysplasia team at Nemours. I saw that it was an opportunity to be part of a close-knit team and something I could jump into whole-heartedly. I really feel passionate about taking care of the families and children we see. I’m passionate about providing high-quality care to families — family-centered care, where we make sure the whole family is included and provided for. Our families often come quite a distance for care and I want to make sure they leave feeling it was worth the trip, that everything fell into place for them and they’re satisfied with the care they got.  I’m also passionate about nurses. I teach nursing at West Chester University, and do all I can to help them become great nurses and know how to provide high-quality care for families and children. I really try to help families in our skeletal dysplasia program connect with resources and with other families with similar conditions and circumstances. We have families from all over the world, so if I can make the connection for a family on the west coast, for instance, with another family of a child with a similar condition in their part of the world, they don’t have to feel like they’re out there by themselves. Dr. Ditro is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Pyle Disease. Her top areas of expertise are Otospondylomegaepiphyseal Dysplasia, Dyggve-Melchior-Clausen Syndrome, Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Congenita, Spondyloenchondrodysplasia, and Osteotomy.

I was born in India to a family of doctors, so I did not have to look far for inspiration. I’m married to a pediatric cardiologist, also with duPont Hospital for Children, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I have every day to improve lives for kids and their families. As a father and surgeon, I have a soft spot for helping children in any way I can. It’s a privilege to be able to improve their lives even if there are challenges. I love to see kids getting back to enjoying life to its fullest and being able to help people deal with difficult issues. One of my proudest professional moments was the day I walked into the operating room and had the privilege to start surgically caring for children. I’m still passionate about my work and the opportunities I have every day to improve the lives of kids, one child at a time. The children I treat have serious medical problems, and it takes a whole team of professionals, working in lots of related medical and sociological fields, to make a difference in their lives, and the lives of their families. It’s an honor to be part of that team. At the end of the day, it’s all about the kids. Dr. Thacker is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Pyle Disease. His top areas of expertise are Osteochondroma, Knock Knees, Hereditary Multiple Osteochondromas, Chondroblastoma, and Osteotomy.

What is the definition of Pyle Disease?

Pyle disease is a disorder of the bones. Its hallmark feature is an abnormality of the long bones in the arms and legs in which the ends (metaphyses) of the bones are abnormally broad; the shape of the bones resembles a boat oar or paddle. The broad metaphyses are due to enlargement of the spongy inner layer of bone (trabecular bone). Although trabecular bone is expanded, the dense outermost layer of bone (cortical bone) is thinner than normal. As a result, the bones are fragile and fracture easily. The bone abnormalities in the legs commonly cause knock knees (genu valgum) in affected individuals.

When should I see a Pyle Disease doctor in Delaware, US?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Pyle Disease doctor in Delaware, US?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Pyle Disease doctors in Delaware, US?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Pyle Disease doctors in Delaware, US?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Pyle Disease doctor in Delaware, US?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Pyle Disease doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Pyle Disease doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Pyle Disease doctor in Delaware, US?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Pyle Disease doctor?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Pyle Disease doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Pyle Disease doctors in Delaware, US?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Pyle Disease doctor search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.

Can I filter my search to find a Pyle Disease doctor that offers video calls?

Look for the filter feature on the left-side of the Pyle Disease doctor search results page. Select “Offers telehealth visits” under the Availability category to search for providers who offer virtual appointments (video calls).
