Overview
I practice a broad range of general surgery with a passion for advanced, minimally invasive surgical approaches to treating diseases of the digestive tract and abdomen. I have expertise in laparoscopy, robotics, endoscopy, and TEM/TAMIS techniques. My strongest interests are in esophageal, stomach, and colorectal surgery. I believe in enhanced recovery protocols, multimodal pain control, and minimally invasive approaches to reduce discomfort and stress. Outside of my surgical calling, I enjoy time with my family, rooting for UNC, gaming, enjoying music and theater, and walking through trails and gardens.

These issues include benign tumors, cancers, hemorrhoids and fistulas. The best part of my job is operating. The operating room is a special place, where we have been able to put a number of processes in place so things run smoothly and we can give patients the best chance at a good outcome. The fact that you can take a condition, operate and potentially cure a patient is fascinating to me. As a faculty member, I also enjoy when I have the chance to teach residents during the operation.
