This article discusses recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), a condition with benign tumors in the respiratory tract. Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis ensues in both children and adults. The disease is induced by low-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types HPV-6 and HPV-11. Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis have a recurrent nature with symptoms ranging from hoarseness, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), to life-threatening airway obstructions.
