Dr. Luis A. Quiel
Overview
Lead and manage the operations of a large hospitalist group, overseeing quality improvement, patient safety, utilization review, medication safety, and peer review for the Hospitalist Division. I also serve as Assistant professor of Medicine and Faculty for a large Internal Medicine Residency Program. I have over 10 years of experience in internal medicine and hospital medicine, with a focus Clinical Innovation, Operations, and gastrointestinal clinical research.
I am a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management and MBA graduate at Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst. I am passionate about improving healthcare delivery and outcomes through innovation, collaboration, and transformational leadership. I have pioneered multiple clinical research projects, founded an Observership Program for IMGs, and served as Student Advisory Board for a nonprofit organization to support underrepresented students in medicine. I have also received multiple honors and awards, including the AHA Scholarship Award for Physician Leadership Training and the Fellow of American College of Physicians. I am fluent in Spanish and English, and have published in several journals and media outlets.
