Overview

Dr. Mufson has been a staff psychiatrist at the Brigham and Women's Hospital since 1981 followings fellowship in medical psychiatry.  His has been awarded the distinction of Master Clinician at the Brigham and Women's Hospital.  He is involved in teaching Harvard Medical Students and psychiatry residents and has received numerous teaching awards for these activities.  He is currently the Director of the Complex Diagnostic Service at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. As director of that service he was recognized with the Clinician Extraordinaire award by the Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America for his innovative diagnostic work in the treatment of mood and psychotic disorders and for his commitment to patient care and to the care of families.
