
Overview
Dr. Kristina Montemayor is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins. She worked as a bedside nurse for five years prior to receiving her medical degree with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch and then completed her Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship training at Johns Hopkins. Her clinical and research areas of expertise include adult cystic fibrosis, sex differences in pulmonary exacerbations, and women's health in cystic fibrosis. Her clinical work also involves caring for critically ill patients in Intensive Care Units. Dr. Montemayor joined the faculty in 2020 and has also been involved with undergraduate and graduate medical education. At the UME level, she is the Course Director for the pulmonary section of the pre-clerkship courses. At the GME level, she is Firm Faculty Leader of the Longcope Firm and Senior Associate Program Director of the Osler Medical Residency. In July 2024, she became the Director of the Fellowship Training Program in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
