Professionally, I am highly motivated and dedicated to making significant contributions to advancing Neuroradiology research and practice. Specifically, I have developed a special focus on neurological molecular imaging, with an emphasis on the advancement of brain PET/MRI and hybrid imaging techniques in dementia and neurodegenerative disease. I was awarded the Foundation of the ASNR 2021 Boerger Research Fund for Alzheimer s Disease and Neurocognitive Disorders for the project [18F] PI-2620 in Primary Progressive Aphasia (Franceschi AM, PI), with the goal of characterizing biodistribution of abnormal tau accumulation in PPA subtypes using the novel second generation tracer PI-2620 and correlating these findings with clinical disease severity and neurodegeneration. I am also PI for the project Utility of [18F] PI-2620 as Universal Biomarker for the A/T/N Classification of Dementia and Neurodegenerative Disease , which aims to establish the efficacy of PI-2620 as a single, universal biomarker for the A/T/N classification scheme of dementia, with the eventual goal of its use in descriptive classification, patient selection and target engagement assessment in disease-modifying clinical treatment trials. I contribute as a co-Investigator on the study A Life Course Approach to Integrating Trauma and Cognitive Aging: A Cohort of 9/11 Responders, which is part of the World Trade Center (WTC) responders aging program (NIH R01 AG049953; Clouston, PI). This research focuses on PTSD and WTC exposures as risk factors for cognitive dysfunction and decline in a prospective cohort of responders, alongside changes in -amyloid, tau deposition, and neurodegeneration. These varied experiences have allowed me to understand the characterization of non-Alzheimer s tauopathies, and have improved my analytical expertise to apply this knowledge to studying Alzheimer s disease and related neurocognitive disorders. In addition to multiple scientific publications on these topics, I am lead editor of the textbook Hybrid PET/MR Neuroimaging: A Comprehensive Approach (Springer Nature, 2022). Dr. Franceschi is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia. She is also highly rated in 4 other conditions, according to our data. Her clinical expertise encompasses Hydrocephalus, Meningioma, Stroke, Cerebellar Degeneration, and Thrombectomy. Dr. Franceschi is board certified in American Board Of Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology and American Board Of Radiology/Neuroradiology.

What is the definition of SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia?

SOST-related sclerosing bone dysplasias are disorders of bone development that are characterized by abnormal hardening (sclerosis) of the bone and increased bone formation (hyperostosis). As a result, bones throughout the body may be denser and wider than normal. The bones of the skull, lower jaw (mandible), arms, and legs are particularly affected. The hyperostosis typically worsens over time as bone formation continues, which causes certain skeletal features to become more pronounced with age.

When should I see an SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor in New York, US?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

      • Your primary care provider recommends it.
      • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
      • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
      • You need specialized testing or procedures.
      • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing an SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor in New York, US?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How do I find the best SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor in New York, US?

You can find an SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor in any of the 10 largest U.S. cities by clicking below:

SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near New York, NY
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Los Angeles, CA
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Chicago, IL
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Houston, TX
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Phoenix, AZ
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Philadelphia, PA
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Atlanta, GA
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Boston, MA
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near Dallas, TX
SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor near San Jose, CA

How does MediFind rank SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctors in New York, US?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctors in New York, US?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with an SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor in New York, US?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with an SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor in New York, US?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

      • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
      • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
      • Family history of disease
      • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
      • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
      • List of questions and concerns
      • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor?

      Here are some sample questions:

      • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
      • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
      • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
      • Are there other specialists I need to see?
      • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female SOST-Related Sclerosing Bone Dysplasia doctors in New York, US?
