Dr. Prakash Gatta's passion for advancing automation in surgery through robotics and digitally enhanced surgical care led him to a career in 2007 as a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in foregut/esophageal, gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery. Since that time, he has held numerous clinical faculty positions, including within the University of Cincinnati and the University of Washington, and served on several committees in exploration of new frontiers in minimally invasive GI surgery.For the American Foregut Society, Dr. Gatta acted as chair of the Robotics & Co-Chair of the Advocacy Committees. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, where he served as chief resident of his class.
