Dr. Megan M. Mizera

Megan M. Mizera, MD, is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the upper extremity. She treats patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, and provides comprehensive musculoskeletal care. The more common conditions she treats include wrist and elbow fractures, arthritis, peripheral nerve compression, tendon injuries, and Dupuytren's disease. She has a special interest in traumatic brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries. She works collaboratively with each patient to develop an operative or non-operative plan tailored to their lifestyle and treatment goals.

Dr. Mizera was raised in Southern California, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. She completed medical school at the University of Central Florida, followed by an orthopaedic residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. She then completed an upper extremity fellowship at the University of Southern California with a focus on microvascular surgery. Additionally, she has authored scientific papers and presented her research at national meetings, earning numerous awards. She is dedicated to learning new techniques and staying informed using the best available evidence and technology to care for her patients.

Dr. Mizera is also dedicated to both resident and medical student education in the field of orthopaedic surgery. She currently has an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
