She completed her residency in pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. After residency, she practiced as a general pediatrician and pediatric hospitalist for a couple years before returning to Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she completed her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine. She joined Atlantic Health System in 2016.Dr. Memon’s research interests are broadly focused on understanding neonatal intestine and liver function, and she has significant experience in various cellular and animal models designed to investigate pathways associated with the disturbance of bilirubin, bile acid, and lipid metabolism. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, presented at numerous national and international conferences, is the founder and director of the Neonatal Intestinal Rehabilitation Team (NIRT) at GCH, a multidisciplinary group that helps manage the care of infants with prolonged intestinal failure, and is co-chair of the Pediatric Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at GCH.
