She is also a professor of pediatrics and clinical and translational science at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology. Dr. Tersak earned her bachelor's degree, master’s degree, and medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her residency and fellowship at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
