My interest in surgery came from a fascination in our ability to interrupt a disease process and the body’s ability to heal. I have dedicated my practice to surgical oncology of the breast, as I am passionate about helping women understand this complex and extremely personal diagnosis. Having walked through breast cancer with a family member, I recognize the importance of accurate risk assessment and informed decision making tailored to one’s own principles of health and wholeness. I am committed to providing compassionate care, alleviating fears of the unknown, and listening to the needs of my patients to obtain the best possible outcome. I became interested in medicine after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I strive to provide individualized care to my patients, making sure that they understand their diagnosis and all treatment options. My goal is to get to know my patients by listening to their concerns, so we can make the best treatment decision together using my breast treatment expertise. Having gone though breast cancer treatment with my mom, I understand the impact of the diagnosis on the rest of the family. Treating breast cancer patients is my passion. I have special interest in treating young women with breast cancer, those with genetic mutation, and women with increased risk of breast cancer. I also pay attention to cosmetic outcomes while completing breast cancer surgery using oncoplastic techniques. I also perform nipple-sparing mastectomy whenever possible and utilizing new techniques such as minimally invasive robotic mastectomy and nipple sensation sparing mastectomies.
