
Overview
Dr. Holly Rawizza completed her medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center, and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. She completed an additional fellowship training year in HIV Medicine at BWH. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rawizza’s research focuses on optimizing treatment for TB/HIV coinfected children, including pharmacokinetic (PK) studies of antiretroviral and antituberculosis drugs. Her work aims to identify novel cotreatment strategies, and has provided the first PK and safety data of rifabutin use among children receiving protease inhibitor-based antiretroviral therapy. Through long-standing collaboration with the PEPFAR-supported APIN Public Health Initiatives program in Nigeria, she has contributed to HIV treatment expansion and conducted programmatic evaluations to improve HIV care.
