Dr. Akila Venkataraman

Akila Venkataraman, MD, specializes in pediatric neurology and provides care to children and adolescents who have conditions affecting their brain, spine, nerves or muscles. She treats conditions such as seizures, epilepsy, headaches, strokes, developmental concerns, genetic conditions involving the nervous system and autoimmune, inflammatory and infectious disorders of the nervous system.|Dr. Venkataraman’s clinical interests include pediatric epilepsy and associated seizure and epileptic disorders in infants, children and adolescents.|While the science of neurology and development inspires her, interacting and building relationships with her patients and their families is what she loves most about her job.|With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Venkataraman’s goal is to not only treat her patients’ medical conditions, but to understand and improve social conditions that impact health and illness. She’s an advocate for improving awareness and education about epilepsy.|In her spare time, she enjoys learning — new languages, new cultures, exploring new places and trying new foods. She also enjoys mentoring children and spends a lot of her time volunteering for local and international organizations.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Seizures, Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizure, and Epilepsy.
