Overview

Dr. Fox is an ophthalmology physician who treats a wide range of comprehensive ophthalmological issues. She has a special interest in treating cataracts, dry eye and glaucoma. Dr. Fox earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Auburn Hills, Michigan. She then completed a residency and an internship in ophthalmology at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Ophthalmology appealed to Dr. Fox because one of her earliest memories is seeing her grandmother return to reading, one of her favorite hobbies, after having cataracts removed. She ultimately chose medicine because she has a thirst for understanding how the body works and a genuine interest in getting to know people. Dr. Fox feels that being able to help others with their vision is a gratifying and humbling responsibility. Her philosophy is to treat patients with the respect and attention they deserve while providing them with the knowledge and options to help them make decisions they are comfortable with. Dr. Fox is data-driven and strives to provide her patients with options supported by the strongest evidence and research. Outside of work, Dr. Fox enjoys photography and spending time outdoors – specifically camping, kayaking, hiking and backpacking. She is married with two young daughters. She grew up in Michigan where she spent a lot of time in rural areas along the Great Lakes fishing with her father. Dr. Fox and her family enjoy the water, the beauty of the landscape and the history of coastal Virginia.
