Overview
Dr. Angela Passanise is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialty training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. Dr. Passanise was a multi-sport athlete while growing up in St. Louis and played soccer in college. She suffered an ACL injury after she began a career in engineering. Her injury journey inspired her to change professions and become an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Passanise went to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at Michigan State University, and then obtained fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the University of Cincinnati and Wellington Orthopaedics in Cincinnati, Ohio. She practiced in Washington, Missouri for 3 years and in Corvallis, Oregon for 8 years. Her specialty interest is in shoulder and knee replacement and all sports medicine injuries. She has served as a team physician for many high school, collegiate, and professional teams and enjoys working with athletes of all ages. Dr. Passanise is an active member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. She has been active in orthopedic research and serves as a reviewer for orthopedic journals.
