Dr. Benjamin H. Morgan
Overview
“Family medicine fits my personality and my lifestyle,” says Dr. Benjamin Morgan, whose love of treating a wide range of ages and illnesses drew him to the field. “You get to know the people better. It’s nice to have whole families as your patients.” Dr. Morgan started his career as a high school math teacher, but after a while felt like he wanted to do something different. He’d thought about pursing a medical career earlier in his life then, when his son experienced medical issues at birth, his interest was triggered again. He graduated from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, to earn his degree in osteopathic medicine, and completed a family medicine residency at Carilion Clinic with Virginia Tech Family Medicine Program in Roanoke. As a doctor of osteopathy, Dr. Morgan specializes in osteopathic manipulative treatment. He also is a specialist in contraceptive care. No stranger to the Appalachian Highlands region, Dr. Morgan was born and raised on a farm in Greeneville, Tennessee. He earned his undergraduate degree from Tusculum University, where he played baseball, and received his Master of Education degree at Lincoln Memorial University.
