Overview

Dr. Bill Morgan is a board-certified surgeon specializing in general surgery, with a subspecialty in trauma surgery. His professional interests include trauma resuscitation. Prior to joining the Baylor Scott & White family, Dr. Morgan held numerous Trauma Medical Director roles, building the trauma program for one California hospital. He was appointed Chair for the State of Idaho’s Time Sensitive Emergencies Committee, creating the state’s Trauma, Stroke and Heart Attack System. During Desert Storm, he spent two months in Saudi Arabia as a Captain and flight surgeon with the US Air Force Reserve. He retired from the US Air Force Reserve as a Colonel in March of 2012. Dr. Morgan is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the North Pacific Surgical Association. He is proud to serve as a Lead Reviewer for the American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Trauma Surveys and as a reviewer for the ACS Committee on Trauma and the Verification, Review, and Consultation Program. Outside of work, Dr. Morgan enjoys flying, off-road vehicles, hunting, three-gun competitions and pistol and weapons training.
