Overview
Early on in life, I experienced injuries playing sports. I had the great fortune of caring and competent physicians that helped get me back to what I enjoyed. This inspired me to pursue a path that would similarly allow me to help others regain their function and quality of life, whether that is getting them back to sports or just back to enjoying their life again.What I want my patients to know about me:I am grateful for the opportunity to work with a cohesive team that works together to give the best orthopedic care possible to Franklin County and the surrounding communities. We collaborate to ensure the individual needs of each patient are best met.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I enjoy spending time with my immediate and extended family, whether it's just socializing and eating together, or traveling and exploring all the great nearby outdoor activities. I also have a strong interest in nutrition and enjoy staying fit by going to the gym, being active outdoors, and playing sports.

I initially set out to be a laboratory scientist earning an MS and PhD. During my time with the department of surgery at the University of Tennessee performing trauma/critical care research, I realized I preferred the personal connection physicians had with patients than performing laboratory work as a scientist. Thus, I decided to attend medical school. What I want my patients to know about me:Originally from Baltimore, I received my medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed my orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. I then completed a sports medicine fellowship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, where I assisted in the care of the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Nationals. I currently serve as the chair of the Department of Surgery at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, medical director for WellSpan Rehabilitation in Adams County, and site director for WellSpan Orthopedics-GettysburgWhat I do when I'm not seeing patients:I enjoy spending time with my family and two Newfoundland dogs, watching Baltimore Orioles baseball and University of Tennessee football.
