Overview
Dr. Brittany Butler provides exceptional care to newborns, particularly those with complex medical conditions. Specializing in the intensive care of premature infants and critically ill newborns, Dr. Butlers clinical interests include preterm infants, extremely preterm infants, pulmonary hypertension, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, sepsis, and chronic lung disease.
She entered medical school to become a general pediatrician to combine her love of science and work with children. Dr. Butlers career plans changed when she learned about neonatology as a first-year medical student. She loved the direct application of physiologic principles in neonatal medicine and enjoyed watching babies grow and improve daily.
After medical school at the University of Chicago, Dr. Butler moved to Colorado to complete her pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital of Colorado and continued there as a neonatology fellow. After graduation, Dr. Butler began working as an attending neonatologist at the Peaks Front Range Hospitals. Throughout her career, she has seen babies born with life-threatening illnesses recover and go home with their families.
I believe that every medical decision we make for our vulnerable patients has the potential to affect outcomes. This motivates me to stay up to date, expand my knowledge, and constantly re-evaluate my own practices.
She is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and holds a fellow status with the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
When shes not caring for her patients, Dr. Butler enjoys hiking, skiing, baking, and cooking.
