Dr. Bruce F. Landeck

Dr. Jeremy Ringewald is fellowship trained in pediatric and congenital interventional cardiology, is board certified in pediatric cardiology and is with BayCare Medical Group in Tampa Bay, Florida, where he sees patients from birth throughout adulthood. Before joining BayCare Medical Group, he practiced at Pediatric Cardiology Associates, was on the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina (2004-09) in Charleston, South Carolina, and was on the faculty at the Children’s Hospital at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center (2001-04) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Ringewald earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois, and performed a pediatric internship and residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, and a pediatric interventional cardiology fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.Dr. Ringewald was the first pediatric interventional cardiologist in Oklahoma and the first in the state to close an atrial septal defect and a ventricular septal defect without open-heart surgery. At the Medical University of South Carolina, he served as co-director of the cardiac catheterization labs and director of the heart transplant program. While there, Dr. Ringewald contributed to several U.S. FDA clinical trials testing new devices and new medications in the catheterization lab. He has performed over 6,000 cardiac catheterizations and is a national leader in the field. Dr. Ringewald is a consultant for several medical industry vendors and teaches other physicians to perform the procedures he helped pioneer. He’s also an experienced researcher and has published numerous articles in medical journals.A few of the interventional program milestones achieved under Dr. Ringewald’s leadership at St. Joseph’s Hospital include many first applications, such as the Medtronic/Melody transcatheter pulmonary valve in Tampa Bay, the Edwards/Sapien transcatheter pulmonary valve in central Florida, the Gore/Cardioform ASD device in Florida, the Abbott/Piccolo device implant in a NICU premie in Tampa Bay, the Medtronic/Harmony transcatheter pulmonary valve in Florida, a Renata/Minima infant stent in the Southeastern U.S., and the world’s leading implanter of Alterra/Sapien transcatheter pulmonary valves in 2023.\xa0Dr. Ringewald educates his patients and their families about their unique cardiac conditions and includes them when developing the most viable treatment plan. He’s a Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Ringewald has served as the director of the cardiac catheterization labs at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital for over 10 years. Dr. Puchalski is co-director of the Heart Institute and medical director of cardiology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. He joined the hospital staff in 2020. He was previously associate director of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He also served as director of noninvasive imaging for cardiology after building the Fetal Heart Center and starting the cardiovascular MRI program. He was director of quality improvement for the Heart Center at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and medical director of outpatient services at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Riverton, Utah. Dr. Puchalski has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, authored numerous book chapters and given many talks both nationally and internationally. He is a fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology and Board member of the Fetal Heart Society. He is also a reviewer for numerous medical journals. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at University of California San Francisco. Dr. Bernus earned a Doctor of Medicine after finishing a Fifth Pathway Program at the New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, and performed a pediatric internship at Martin Luther King/Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. She completed a pediatric residency at The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California, and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Bernus has volunteered with several medical missions with Heart Care International and Surgeons of Hope and has provided cardiac care to children in Senegal, Mozambique, Peru, El Salvador and Jamaica, among other countries. Her clinical interests include pulmonary hypertension, noninvasive cardiology and cardiac intensive care unit/postoperative care. Dr. Bernus is certified in pediatric advanced life support.
