Dr. Caleb King is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist with the Breast Care Center at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. He also has a special clinical interest in benign breast disease. His areas of expertise include: Mastectomy Lumpectomy Breast biopsy Axillary node biopsy and dissection Port placement Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy Aesthetic Flat Closure Oncoplastic Technique Dr. King decided to specialize in breast surgical oncology after three close family members were diagnosed with breast cancer and he supported them through the treatments. He believes in shared decision-making with his patients and providing them with all of their options, including the risks and benefits of each treatment, and helping them come to a decision that is best for their unique needs. Dr. King’s Training As a National Merit Scholar, Dr. King earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in genetics from the University of Georgia in Athens. He received his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. During this time, Dr. King co-founded Equality Clinic of Augusta, the first student-run clinic in the nation offering healthcare, mental health and dental services to uninsured or underinsured patients with an emphasis on issues prevalent in the LGBTQIA+ community. He completed a general surgery residency at Orlando Health followed by a breast surgical oncology fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Hillman Cancer Center and Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. About Dr. King Dr. King has delivered presentations nationally and internationally, and his work has appeared in peer-reviewed publications. He has a special interest in helping underserved populations and has volunteered at clinics in the communities where he lives, as well as in Mexico and Peru. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, fostering dogs and helping them find homes, the beach and the outdoors. He also showed horses for 13 years.
